Environmental Protection

Our work, duties and time at SCF Unicom is mostly about ice and harsh weather conditions considering that 30% of our fleet are ice class vessels, and some of them operating in extreme harsh weather conditions.

But here in Cyprus at our main offices we are taking the advantage of long hours of sunshine by having installed solar panels to cover the whole roof of our office block.

The power generated is being sold to the Cyprus Electricity Authority and Unicom will continue to purchase electricity as a normal customer.

The solar panels, which cover a total of 36.34 sq m, will produce about 30,000 kW hours per year, which equates to a 3,385 kg reduction in CO2 emissions.

We continue to set our goals high to actively participate to save our planet.
